Hardening

• Hardening temperature at 800C-840C. Hardening substances used: water and oil. Hardness obtained after hardening at 63-65 HRC
• Tempering temperature at 100C-250C. Hardness obtained after tempering at 59-64 HRC

Applications

SUJ 2 is characterized by both hardness and strength with fair toughness. It is capable for excellent resistance to wear and corrosion because of hardening capability with very high hardness obtained after hardening. It is popular for producing bearings, ball bearing retainers in both round, bar, and pin formats. It can be used in producing rollers, collets, spring rings, bench tools, bushing, grind column, and others due to its high strength and good corrosion resistance
